Join us at The Pasta Shop on Fourth Street for a celebration of California Olive Oil!
From 5 - 6 PM, we'll host a guided tasting of extra virgin olive oils and give some lessons on pairing with food. This will be led by Sandy Sonnenfelt of The Pasta Shop and Marsha McBride of Cafe Rouge. Special guest Patty Darragh of the California Olive Oil Council will also be present to discuss the COOC seal and the state of the industry in CA.
From 6 - 7 PM, an incredible group of California extra virgin olive oil producers will be tasting their oils and talking to guests. Producers present will include:
Fran Gage will be present to sign copies of her book, The New American Olive Oil.
We will also have an Ice Cream and Olive Oil Bar! For those of you who've never experienced this amazing combination, come by to try some wonderful combinations like Vanilla Gelato with Olive Oil and Sea Salt.
And last but not least, our Cheese Department will be making fresh ricotta, IN-STORE, and tasting it with extra virgin olive oil.
