We're pretty open to complaints from customers...if you don't like something coming out of our kitchen, we'll take a look at it and see what we can do. But we recently received a complaint from two unlikely customers that we felt we HAD to do something about...
The two customers were the children of one of our chefs and the product with which they were unhappy was the Macaroni and Cheese. A staple of The Pasta Shop kitchen, our Macaroni and Cheese has been flying out the doors for years now. It's a classic...4 cheeses, creamy sauce, baked with a cheesy crust. We've never had any complaints...until last week.
It was a cool night in April and the boys, aged 10, wanted dinner and the only thing that would do was Macaroni and Cheese. So their Dad set about whipping up the same Macaroni and Cheese that The Pasta Shop makes...a classic, right?
Nope.
The boys wanted something a little more sophisticated. A crunchier top, maybe...a zestier sauce, perhaps. They were getting older and it was time for a change.
So Dad set about making what has now become the all-new Macaroni and Cheese at The Pasta Shop. It's made with 3 cheeses, (Fontina, Reggiano and White Cheddar), a touch of mustard and a buttered breadcrumb topping, baked to golden brown perfection. It's savory and ooey-gooey. If you're hosting a dinner party, we'll even set you up with you a whole tray and no one will ever know it's not yours!
